On Thursday June 23, 2016 YaLa Young Leaders celebrated our 5th anniversary with a blockbuster online gathering of young people from across the Middle East and Africa. During the event, 100 political, economic and cultural leaders shared their messages of insight, support and encouragement for the peace and social activism of 1 million YaLa members across the region.

YaLa’s fourth annual online conference – “1 Million Rally for Peace” – took place on July 2, 2015 from 11:30 to 20:30 Jerusalem time (UTC/GMT+3)! The conference brought together over 50 important officials and international figures, such as Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon; the 9th President of Israel Shimon Peres, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Facebook Vice President David Fischer, acclaimed actor Sharon Stone, and many more, who addressed via video the young generation of the Middle East and Africa! The Third Annual Online Peace Conference | May 25, 2014
The Third Online Peace Conference took place on May 25, 2014 from 11:00 to 20:00 Jerusalem time (UTC/GMT+3). Over 40 diplomatic, economic, cultural and academic leaders such as former Obama advisor and strategist David Axelrod, acclaimed actor Sharon Stone, Pres. Jose Manuel Barroso of the European Commission, David Fischer of Facebook and Laura Blumenfeld of the U.S. State Department will address the nearly half a million members of the YaLa Young Leaders movement. The Second Annual Online Peace and Economic Cooperation Conference | December 18th, 2012
On the 18th of December 2012, YaLa-Young Leaders held its Second Annual Online Peace and Economic Cooperation Conference on the “Shaker” avatar technological platform on Facebook. The online event brought together thousands of members from the YaLa-Young Leaders movement of 250,000 from all across the Middle East and North Africa as well as approximately 1 million people who were able to follow the conference proceedings through the YaLa-Young Leaders Facebook page. The Conference adopted the first young generation Middle East Peace Initiative for the future of the region and announced the launch of the YaLa-Young Leaders Online Academy, which will commence in January 2013. The YaLa Young Leaders Anniversary Conference: The 1st YaLa-Versary | May 24th, 2012
On May 24th 2012, YaLa-Young Leaders held the “1st YaLa-Versary”, a Conference to mark its one year Anniversary on the “Shaker” avatar technological platform. The purpose of the Conference was to summarize for the entire YaLa community the developments regarding goals, projects and initiatives that YaLa has undergone, as portrayed by the YaLa-Young Leaders Annual Report which was disseminated at the Conference, and to celebrate a year of unprecedented growth and achievements of the YaLa community. During the Conference YaLa participants were greeted via video by dignitaries and leading figures from a variety of fields, such as Barcelona Coach Pep Guardiola; Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas; Israeli President Shimon Peres; former U.S. Middle East Advisor Amb. Dennis Ross; Special Advisor for Youth Engagement at the Office of Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs at the U.S. State Department, Mr. Andrew Rabens; Musician Achinoam “Noa” Nini; Actors Norman Issa and Mira Awad; and more.
The First Online Peace and Economic Cooperation Conference | January 23-24th, 2012
On the 23rd and 24th of January 2012, YaLa held the First Annual Online Regional Peace and Economic Cooperation Conference for the Middle East on the “Shaker” avatar technological platform. Throughout the two days, a total of 40,000 young people participated – likely the most “attended” peace conference in history. From Pakistan to Palestine, from Saudi Arabia to Israel, from Tunisia to Kuwait – tens of thousands of youth from across the region took part in fruitful and friendly dialogue, read and gave feedback on the YaLa Agenda for the Future and the YaLa Project Book of concrete initiatives, including accelerators for start-ups, online music studios and gaming development portals, and the flagship project, the YaLa-Young Leaders Online Academy.
